New competition for vehicle checkpoint screening at airports

The Defence and Security Accelerator has launched a new competition focusing on vehicle checkpoint (VCP) screening at airports.

Launched on behalf of the Future Aviation Security Solutions programme, the competition is seeking new solutions to further prevent explosives, weapons and other threats from accessing the secure airside area at airports.

The FASS programme is investing £25.5 million over a five year period to promote innovation to improve aviation security, with VCPs playing a vital role in the functioning of airports, as all airport vehicles must be security screened before being authorised to access the secure airside perimeter.
