Brussels reopens schools and metro

Many schools and metro stations have reopened in Brussels following a security lockdown due to fears of a terror attack.

The lockdown came after the attacks in Paris on 13 November that left 130 dead and injured over 350 people.

It was feared a similar attack could happen in the area as a number of the culprits were based in Brussels, with five people in Belgium being charged with terrorism offences in connection with the Paris attacks.

The Belgian capital is still at the highest terror alert and hundreds of armed police and soldiers are on patrol in the city.
