May to commit to European security post-Brexit

Prime Minister Theresa May will use a summit in Brussels to emphasise the importance of European countries working together to ‘protect our shared values and ideals’.

Meeting with European Council President Donald Tusk, May is expected to stress the need for a unified approach to security whilst and after the UK leaves the EU, warning that ‘we must be open-eyed to the actions of hostile states like Russia which attempt to tear our collective strength apart’.

Report predict May will use the summit to reiterate that the UK could still contribute to European security after Brexit, with some news outlet pinpointing the spending of £100 million over five years to fight Russian disinformation campaigns.
