Berlin attack suspect shot dead in Italy

Italy's interior minister Marco Minetti has confirmed that Anis Amri, the man suspected to be behind the Berlin market attack, has been shot dead by police in Milan. According to police, the man opened fire on police whoen he was asked for ID during a routine patrol in the Sesto San Giovanni area in the early hours of Friday morning. One police officer was injured in the shootout. It is thought that Amri had travelled by train from France to Turin, and then taken another train to Milan. The news comes after Germany has been on high alert since the attack, which left 12 dead and 49 injured.
