PM urges public not to be ‘cowed by terrorists’

Following the Christmas market attack in Berlin, Theresa May has said people should go about their business as usual and not be ‘cowed by terrorists’.

Talking to the London Evening Standard, the Prime Minister highlighted how it was important to ‘send a clear message’ that people should ‘carry on with our lives as usual’.

12 people were killed on Monday when a truck was driven into a crowd at the Breitscheidplatz market in Berlin. The market has now reopened, with police having installed concrete barriers to prevent a repeat attack.

Tunisian suspect Anis Amri is the subject of a Europe-wide arrest warrant, after his ID and fingerprints have been found in the lorry.
