Police continue UK Christmas terror plot searches

Following police raids on five properties in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, UK counter terror police are set to resume searches of two properties after an alleged Islamist terror plot set to happen at Christmas was stopped. Four male suspects, aged between 22 and 41, were detained on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The searches ate taking place in Burngreave, Sheffield and Chesterfield, after bomb disposal personnel were called to properties in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire on 19 December 2017.
