UK crime rise linked to 'spread of Islamic terror’

US President Donald Trump has controversially linked a rise in recorded crime in the UK to the ‘spread of radical Islamic terror’. Writing on Twitter, Trump used the latest Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures, which highlighted a 13 per cent increase in all police-recorded offences, to link the crime link to terrorism. However, the statistics predominantly focused upon knife crime, robberies, sexual offences, stalking and harassment, burglary and car crime. He tweeted: “Just out report: ‘United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror.’ not good, we must keep America safe!”
