NaCTSO launch Action Counters Terrorism

The National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) has launched its Action Counters Terrorism campaign which encourages people to report suspicious behaviour. New figures show that 30,984 reports were made to counter terror officers last year, with police saying that over 6,000 of those reports helped inform live investigations. At present, the police and MI5 are running more than 600 counter-terror investigations relating to about 3,000 individuals. The Metropolitan Police's Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu has said that the campaign provides an opportunity for ‘every good citizen to be a counter terrorism citizen’.
