Belgium confirms increased spending to fight extremism

Belgium has announced that it will spend and extra €400 million to combat violent extremism.

Prime Minister Charles Michel made the announcement on 19 November after it emerged that at least two people involved in the Paris Attacks on 13 of July had been living in the country.

This includes a series of new security measures such as jailing returning fighters from Syria and closing down unrecognised places of worship.
