Parsons Green terror suspect denies planting bomb

A teenage refugee accused of injuring 30 commuters after planting a bomb on a London tube train has denied being responsible for the attack. The 18-year-old was charged with attempted murder and using the chemical compound triacetone triperoxide to cause an explosion that was likely to endanger life. Ahmed Hassan Mohammed Ali allegedly built and placed the improved explosive device on the District Line train at Parsons Green station on September 15 2017. The bomb, made from explosives, knives and screws and packed into a white bucket in a Lidl bag, only partially exploded but left one woman with life-changing burns. The teenager, from Surrey, was arrested by counter terror officers the following day. He has been remanded in custody to appear for a two-week trial at the Old Bailey on 5 March.
