Man arrested on suspicion of terrorism released

A man who was arrested in Norwich as part of an investigation into suspected funding of terrorism has been released on bail. The 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of entering a terrorist funding arrangement contrary to section 17 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He was detained under PACE and taken to a south London police station, where he was released on police bail until mid-February. As part of the investigation, which is being led by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, and supported by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit and Counter Terror Policing (ERSOU & CTP), officers also carried out searches at three addresses in the Norwich area.
