3D models of vital buildings in India to be prepared for anti-terrorism operations
Digital library with 3D images to be built
3D models of all important buildings in India are being prepared by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy for anti-terrorism operations, The Hindu has reported.
Using these models, the academy will give specialised training to officers and commandos for a counter-attack, in a scenario where any of these buildings come under siege.
The Academy will build a digital library with 3D images as well as photographs and maps of important installations, including its own campus at Shivrampally.
Academy Director Rajiv Mathur said: “The idea is that if you know about the interiors of any location (building) which is under threat, the officers can be given a 3D briefing before launching the counter-attack."
"We are trying to create a 3D atmosphere and put the officers through simulation tests as part of the tactical training."
