Manchester attack planned since December

Security officials in Libya have told the BBC that the recent Manchester bomb attack was being planned since December. Salman Abedi, who killed 22 people and injured many more when he attacked Manchester Arena last month following an Ariana Grande concert, was being watched in Libya more than a month before the attack. Reports suggest that Abedi spent up to four weeks with his family in Tripoli before returning to Britain. Security personnel in Tripoli have said that security co-operation with the UK must improve in order to prevent further attacks. It is not yet clear whether the information they held was shared with the UK. Abode’s brother and father, who were also under Libyan surveillance, are still being interrogated by Libya's Special Deterrence Force.
