Cambridge UAV Academy (CUAVA)

Cambridge UAV Academy (CUAVA) is a Full National Qualified Entity (NQE) under the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

CUAVA was initially established to train and qualify private UAV pilots to a CAA approved level of competency and certify them as such, allowing these pilots to progress towards operating commercially under a CAA issued permission, the Permission for Commercial Operation or PfCO.

CUAVA has an enviable reputation of cooperation with the Police and Emergency Services of the UK and other countries in Europe having trained or operated in consultancy with many forces keen to exploit the use of UAV’s for survey, investigation or analysis.

Even before Cambridge UAV Academy had been established as one of the UK’s leading National Qualified Entities, the team at its sister company, Cambridge UAV, were working alongside many Police and Fire services providing a ready to deploy service with the emerging technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, or drones as they've more commonly become known.

When the training academy was established, one of their first clients was the Police. In the last few years they have trained and qualified officers from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, the Met Police and Counter Terrorism. Word soon spread and the Academy has also trained specialists within the Fire and Rescue Services.

The Academy’s practical approach to training the emergency services has won favour from the operators who leave with a sense of confidence after the industry specific practical tests whilst those responsible for budgets appreciate the inclusive costs.

“Thank you for the both professional and flexible service you have provided for my team, during both the ground school and the practical flight assessments.
The feedback has been very good for both the content of the course and the way you personally dealt with my staff, leaving them feeling confident and knowledgeable to operate our UAVs, both safely and in accordance with regulations.
Should further expansion of the team be required, I would not hesitate to approach Cambridge UAV Academy again.”

CUAVA enjoys fabulous facilities at their head office and private airfield in Cambridgeshire but alternatively they can provide a training service at your base or location if required, subject to sufficient attendees.
